Export promotion to cover wide range of non-oil output

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has announced that it excluded two Russian singers from the list of "undesirable people".

Russian musicians Timur Temirov and Soso Pavliashvili appealed to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry with a request to cancel the ban imposed on their entry to the territory of Azerbaijan

Earlier, the media spread information about the illegal visit of Soso Pavliashvili to the Armenia-occupied territories of Azerbaijan, as well as Timur Temirov’s activities to engage in promotion of illegal regime established on the occupied lands.

“In the letters the musicians reiterated their great respect and esteem to the people of Azerbaijan, its culture and music, and high appreciation for the traditions of hospitality of our country. In this context, Timur Temirov and Soso Pavliashvili expressed their wish to visit Azerbaijan and perform concert programs in Baku soon,” the ministry stated.

The appeals of Soso Pavliashvili and Timur Temirov were reviewed in an appropriate manner and they received permission to enter the territory of Azerbaijan.

Armenia captured Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions of Azerbaijan in a war that followed the Soviet breakup in 1991. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and nearly one million were displaced as a result of the war. Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions are temporarily out of the control of Azerbaijan as a result of Armenia’s aggression.

Unauthorized visits to Nagorno-Karabakh and other occupied regions of Azerbaijan are considered illegal and individuals who pay such visits are included in the ministry’s “black list”.

The list of persona non grata banned from visiting Azerbaijan includes MPs, media persons, businessmen, entertainers, and others, who violated Azerbaijan’s borders and showed disrespect to the sovereignty and territorial unity of the country.
