This year for the first time, Azerbaijan has presented a national pavilion at the international exhibition Expo-2015 in Milan. The exhibition unveiled in May will last until October 31. Organizational partners of the Azerbaijani pavilion are the Heydar Aliyev Center and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

A large team of Italian experts helped with the preparations for the Azerbaijani national pavilion at Expo-2015 in Milan. One of the team members is Celeste Serdzhianno, the content manager of the pavilion.

Celeste said that she believes that the Azerbaijani pavilion turned out fabulous because it was a great surprise for them to discover Azerbaijan; particularly, the country’s cuisine, music, culture and incredible legacy.

“It really was a surprise,” she said. She also said that she and her team discovered new things while working with the Azerbaijani team. She added that Azerbaijani cuisine and sweets, such as paklava, kyufta-bozbash and various dishes utilizing exotic ingredients and spices were delicious.

She also stressed her joy and satisfaction with taking part in the project in Azerbaijan.

During the period of content training, Celeste visited Azerbaijan several times. She has visited to Baku, Nakhchivan, Sheki, Guba, Lankaran, Absheron and other parts of the country. She has shot a lot of photos and videos of the Azerbaijani pavilion and now expresses a desire to visit Baku next month.

Her team consisted of ten people who travelled throughout Azerbaijan taking photos and videos of people and landscapes. The group took off more than five thousand photographs and 250 hours of video content. Celeste says that her team was always greeted with great hospitality by Azerbaijan’s citizens.

Serdzhianno said that the visitors’ reactions to the pavilion were monitored almost from the exhibit’s opening.

“We are very happy to hear ‘wow’ from the guests not only from Italy but also from Swiss, Austria, Australia and America. Almost everyone shares the opinion that the pavilion’s team has done a great job. In addition, there is lot information about Azerbaijani pavilion in Europe’s newspapers and journals. We feel pride for the work done.”
