Azerbaijani tourists head to Georgia

The amazing nature of Azerbaijan is full of wonders and magnetism that attracts tourists and locals. However, travelling around the world opens other perspectives.

Azerbaijanis prefer visiting neighbor countries, as it’s faster, safer and cost-efficient. Turkey and Georgia are the favorite destination of the population.

Number of Azerbaijani tourists who visited Georgia in 2014 has increased by 19 percent compared to 2013, the Georgian National Tourism Administration reported.

According to the agency, more than 1,282 million of tourists from 9.5 million Azerbaijan rested in Georgia in 2014. This is no wonder, as authentic Georgia is the best low cost destination and Azerbaijan has a lot to learn in this matter.

“I love this country and visit it for several times in a year,” keen traveler Zakir said. “This year, I am planning to visit Tbilisi and Batumi in March and July.”

Georgia is an unforgettable pleasure with all the alternatives it offers for active sport and passive rest.

Walkers and hikers fall in love with its mountains, pure nature will not leave a single unconquered heart. Fascinating history of the country, its architecture and culture as well as tasty local cuisine will attract more and more people in the years to come.

The total number of foreign tourists visited Georgia in 2014 increased by two percent exceeding 5,493 million.

Besides Azerbaijan, Georgia is a popular destination for tourists from Turkey, Armenia and Russia.

The number of tourists from the European Union raised by 10.8 percent reaching 231,402 persons. Most of them came to the country from Poland, Germany and Greece.
