In the times of boosting information technologies, cyber security provision is a must for every country. And Azerbaijan, with its prospering ICT sphere is not an exception.

Israel is ready to share its experience with Azerbaijan in the area of cyber security, the Azerbaijan Communications and High Technologies Ministry said on February 19.

The cooperation in cyber security between two sides was discussed in Baku at a meeting of Ali Abbasov, Azerbaijan’s Communications and High Technologies Minister with Iris Zur Bargury, Head of the Department for Cyber Technologies and Computer Software of Israeli government agencies, and Israel’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Rafael Harpaz.

The Israeli model in cyberspace security strategy is based on experience combined with a unique concept of development.

The Israeli side offers security solutions that can be applied in education.

Harpaz said that currently Israel and Azerbaijan are closely cooperating in various industries, and one of the most important areas for cooperation is the area of ??ICT.

The cooperation between the two countries in the ICT is carried out in accordance with an agreement reached at the intergovernmental level.

The information security is one of the most important areas of cooperation between the two countries, and Azerbaijan is ready to learn from the experience of Israel in the fight against cyber crime and in information security, the Electronic Security Center of under the Azerbaijani said earlier.

Israel created a structure Tehila to combat cyber threats in 1997, and formed the National Information Security Management in 2002.

Moreover, the National Cyber ??Headquarters, which is responsible for the formation of national security policy in cyberspace, and the development of cooperation between the Israeli and international expert bodies in the field of computer security was established in January 2012.

Azerbaijan aims to strengthen the cyber security in the fast-growing ICT sector of the country, which faces with some ninety percent of cyber attacks from abroad.

One of such examples is an attack of the Armenian terrorist organization ASALA on website of the Agency for International Development in Azerbaijan at the Foreign Ministry on February 19.

AIDA realizes important humanitarian missions in many regions of the world, contributing to improving the living conditions of socially vulnerable people and to sustainable development by realizing the UN Millennium Development Goals at a global level. The activity of the website was restored in a short time.

Terror threats from Armenia are common in Azerbaijan, since the aggressor country is keeping 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory for over two decades.

In this connection, the cyber security is paramount for Azerbaijan. The country fights for the computer security on two levels.

One of these levels concerns legal issues, which involves the Justice Ministry, prosecution agencies and other structures, while the second level is technological, which includes operators, and companies providing cyber services, that should use detection systems and improve cyber security.
