Bottega Veneta announces the annual results for 2014, reporting 1,131 billion euro in total revenues, up 12.6% at constant currency and 11.3% on a reported basis compared to 2013.

The double-digit sales growth was recorded across both retail and wholesale channels, achieved through efficiencies in production, supply chain and operations and accompanied by a significant profitability.

Recurring operating income (EBIT) for the entire fiscal year reached 357 million euro, posting an increase of 8% on a reported basis compared to 2013; EBIT margin therefore achieved 31.6%.

Bottega Veneta closed the year with its number of directly operated stores having expanded to 236, compared to 221 at the end of 2013. The company focused on consolidating its existing retail network, continuing its efforts to enhance its boutiques through both refurbishments and expansions to ensure the best possible experience while pursuing selective openings, such as its first stores in Vienna and Boston.

Leather goods products, including plain leather ones, continued to represent a very important part of the business in 2014, while an expanded Home collection and new fragrance for women - Bottega Veneta Knot - were introduced, underlining Bottega Veneta’s commitment to other categories as an absolute luxury lifestyle brand.

In March 2014 Bottega Veneta became the world’s first luxury fashion company to achieve the LEED certification at the highest possible level, Platinum, in the New Construction & Major Renovation category for its new Atelier in Montebello Vicentino, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and attention to people which was ultimately attested by the entrance in the Great Place to Work ® classification for the category Best Workplaces Italy - Large Companies for 2014 – and again confirmed for 2015.

In November the company was recognized as well– for the second time since the first recognition in 2006 - as Best International Luxury Brand in the prestigious Walpole British Luxury Awards.

Since January 2015 Carlo Alberto Beretta leads Bottega Veneta as Chief Executive Officer in conjunction with the creative direction established by Tomas Maier. Remaining true to a successful path of collaboration between business development and creativity, the company will be managed under a solid long-term strategy based on its ongoing coherence to the brand values, extreme attention to customers and a continual focus on its employees. In 2015, Bottega Veneta will continue to build on its accomplishments and positioning, supported by further strategic retail openings worldwide with a focus on Europe, the US and Japan as well as enhancements of the existing retail network.
