Russia to increase number of flights to Azerbaijan

Two Russian air carriers have received the permission to launch flights to Azerbaijan. Russian Federal Air Transport Agency “Rosaviaciya” reported on February 13.

“Angara” air company has just got the permission to launch regular flights from Novosibirsk to Azerbaijani regions such as Ganja and Lankaran. It will also have flights to Azerbaijan's capital Baku two times per week with “An-148-100E”. Currently, air flights from Novosibirsk to Baku are carried out by S7 air company’s aircrafts.

Moreover, “Taymir” air company will conduct flights on St. Petersburg-Lankaran and Surgut-Lankaran routes. The flights will be carried out via Boeing 737 two times per week.

The commission refused “Aeroflot”’s request on increasing flights from 14 to 22 times per week on Moscow-Baku route.

In addition, the “UTair” air company will not able to implement any flights en route Surgut-Lankaran.

“Kogalimavia” company also lost the right to implement flights on St. Petersburg-Lankaran direction because it didn't conducted flights on the rout for more than two seasons.
