Azerbaijan increases export to Georgia by nearly 8% per year

Georgia imported products amounting to $203.53 million from Azerbaijan in January-April 2014, according to the Georgian National Statistic Service's foreign trade report.

For the period, the volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia increased by 7.94 percent. For comparison, Georgia imported Azerbaijani goods worth $188.55 million during the first four months of 2013, according to the report.

Azerbaijan slipped to the third place in the list of the countries from which Georgia imports products. The share of Azerbaijan's exports in the total volume of goods imported in Georgia is 8.1 percent.

Georgia imports most goods from Turkey. The volume of Georgia's imports from Turkey amounted to $452.6 million in January-April 2014 or 18 percent of a total import volume. China ranked second with $214.31 million and an 8.5 percent share of Georgia's total import volume.
