Turkey sets to summon technological novelties in Istanbul

LED Systems, Technologies, Applications and Lighting Exhibition, being the only exhibition of the sector in the region covering Europe, Middle East and Africa in addition to Turkey, has completed this year with brilliant success, too.

The exhibition, which was held from September 26, 2013 to September 29, 2013, was supported by the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry of Turkey.

Some 183 companies, 61 of which are foreign ones, participated in the exhibition where the latest products were exhibited. Additionally, products of 277 companies from 25 countries were exhibited.

LED&LED Lighting Exhibition was visited by 17.976 professionals from 45 countries in four days.

Having been following its path and growing for 7 years, LED&LED Lighting Exhibition achieved an overwhelming success, in 2013, via an increase of 54 percent in the number of visitors.

LED&LED Lighting Exhibition that was, like last year, supported again this year by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey as well as various nongovernmental organizations and sectoral publications gains strength every year through the support of foreign nongovernmental organizations and sectoral publications.

This year the exhibition will welcome its visitors at IDTM Istanbul Expo Center, Yesilkoy on September 25-28.

Turkey's only LED conference was held for the fifth time

Turkey's only LED Conference that has been held in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey since 2009 was held at the Istanbul Expo Center from September 27, 2013 to September 28, 2013 within the scope of 9th LED&LED Lighting Exhibition under the main sponsorship of Vestel, the Gold Sponsorship of Kaftan Teknoloji (Okvolight) and the Silver Sponsorship of EBV Elektronik.

The advantages LED offers in addition to energy efficiency have made this technology more important for both academic and private sector. Bringing together the academic circles with the private sector, LED Conference allowed 17 presentations in 6 sessions aiming at contributing to the development of the fields where this technology is used.

During LED Conference that was held on September 27-28, 2013, various presentations on OLED and LED lighting were made by the private sector and the academic circles in the sessions under the chairmanship of Prof. Suleyman Ozchelik, Emre Gunesh, General Manager, PLD Turkey, Murat Durak from Turkak, and Assistant Professor Canan Perdahch?.

LED Conference attracted great interest from sector professionals, university students and sector visitors.

Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan (ITRI) that participated as a pavilion with its members in LED&LED Lighting Exhibition within the scope of the LED Conference this year held an important activity. The activity received interest from both domestic and foreign companies.

Additionally, during the session titled "Lighting Designer's Approach to LED" that was moderated by Emre Gunes, General Manager, PLD Turkiye Zeki Kadirbeyoglu and Korhan Sisman, Turkiye's most important Lighting Designers, delivered speeches through the eyes of Turkey's lighting designers about the difficulties encountered in the use of LED and the position of LED in lighting.

LED and LED lighting projects contest prizes awarded

LED and LED Lighting Projects contest held under the Main Sponsorship of Pelsan Ayd?nlatma was held aiming at increasing the awareness and supporting new projects and new ideas about this subject as a result of the LED technology and LED lighting products becoming widespread. 32 projects from university students and sector professionals were sent to the contest, which in addition to contributing to the increase of the manufacture and R&D studies, brings together the sector professionals with the university students interested in the sector.

Some 15 projects which reached the finals following the initial assessment were qualified to execute presentation and four projects to execute poster presentation. These projects and posters were presented at the Project Exhibition during the Exhibition to all the business people and academicians interested in LED.

The LED contest and the project exhibition which was held within the scope of the contest, bringing together academicians, research workers, business people and university students, led to the discourse upon studies at universities and the industry, had institutions sharing their knowledge with application providers and scientific circles, and brought together the project-owner students with business people and sector representatives.
