British “Rapid TV News” daily newspaper has published an article headlined “New OTT service for Azerbaijan”.
Author Rebecca Hawkes says: A new over-the-top (OTT) video service is to be launched on 15 January 2014 by the Azerbaijan Government-run Information Computing Centre.”
“The Internet television service will initially deliver 44 channels, with further channels to be added at a future date.
The OTT service will reportedly be available to subscribers for a monthly cost of AZN 6, and will augment the existing 23 national TV channels and 12 regional TV channels broadcast in
Azerbaijan.”
“By December 2012, 70% of the population used the Internet, according to figures from the Azerbaijan Ministry of Communications,” the article says.
