Construction materials holds 10 percent of Georgian export to Azerbaijan

Some 411,730 tons of cement in the amount of $30.38 million was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-November 2013, according to a report posted on website of GruzStat, the National Statistical Service of Georgia.

According to the report, the specific weight of this category in the total volume of Georgian exports to Azerbaijan amounted to 4.7 percent in the reporting period.

The volume of cement export from Georgia decreased by 2.35 percent or 11,510 tons compared to the same period of 2012. For comparison, some 423,240 tons of cement in the amount of $31.11 million was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-November 2012.

In the reporting period the growth of steel bar export from Georgia to Azerbaijan was also observed. Thus, some 59,850 tons of steel bar in the amount of $37.53 million was exported to Azerbaijan in January-November 2013, which is by 10.51 percent more than in the same period of 2012. For comparison, Azerbaijan imported about 49,860 tons of steel bar in the amount of $33.96 million from Georgia in January-November 2012. The specific weight of this category in the total volume of Georgian exports to Azerbaijan amounted to 5.7 percent in the reporting period.

In total, some $647.06 million worth of goods was exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan in January-November 2013 and this figure accounted for 24.7 percent of the total volume of the country's export during the reporting period. The export to Azerbaijan increased by 11.8 percent compared to the same period of 2012. For comparison, some $578.18 million worth of goods was exported to Azerbaijan in January-November 2012.
