Azerbaijan supports the idea of creating a single "think tank" of the Organization of Economic Cooperation (ECO) member-states, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sevinc Hasanova said at the first Baku forum of economic "think tanks" on Thursday.
The deputy minister stressed the urgency of enhancing cooperation between the "think tanks" within the organization and holding the joint research projects.
"Azerbaijan supports the idea of creating a single 'think tank'," she said. "We are ready to render state support to this process."
According to her, Azerbaijan has signed 10 agreements within the ECO to strengthen cooperation and increase the intra-regional trade turnover.
The heads of "think tanks", experts and academics of ECO countries attend the forum. Along with the forum, the first international conference on "Energy, regional integration and socio-economic development" is being held today.
