BP ups volume of gas supply in Azerbaijan

According to the results of 2012, the daily volume of production by the partners tapping the "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea amounted to 664,400 barrels of oil ( 243.2 million barrels or 32.9 million tons per year), the annual report of BP published on the results of 2012 says.

According to the data provided by BP, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) got nearly 9.2 million cubic meters of gas per day from "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" during the last period.

In total, around 3.4 billion cubic meters of gas was received by SOCAR according to the results of last year, which exceeded the company's prognosis by 13 percent.

The general operating expenses of the "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" amounted to $725 million last year, and capital expenses- $2.495 billion. According to the company's prognosis for 2013, the volume of operating expenses on "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" will amount to $758 million and capital expenses - $2.514 billion.

Production at the "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" oil and gas fields was launched in 1997.

Ownership of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli contract is distributed as following: BP (operator in Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli) - 35.78 percent, Chevron -11.27 percent, Inpex - 10.96 percent, AzACG - 11.65 percent, Statoil - 8.56 percent, Exxon- 8 percent, TPAO- 6.75 percent, Itochu- 4.3 percent and ONGC-2.72 percent.
