"SKODA AZERBAIJAN" and Czech embassy in Baku mark Republic Day - PHOTOS

On October 29, Czech Embassy in Baku celebrated one of the national holidays most important for the Czechs -  Republic Day. "SKAZ Avto" (SKODA AZERBAIJAN) was one of the main sponsors of the event. As the exclusive official representative of Skoda in Azerbaijan, the "SKAZ Avto" company always used to participate in such projects proudly.

The event was dedicated to the Republic Day of the Czech Republic, as well as economic cooperation between the two countries.

Traditionally, the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan are notable for long-term friendly relations both in the sphere of politics and economy. "Our foreign policy is not limited to relations with the EU member states. Relationship of mutually beneficial partnership and strategic cooperation that unite the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan may serve as a striking example of this", - said the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Azerbaijan Radek Matula, in his opening speech.

The Czech Republic is one of the leading manufacturers of cars per capita. Thus, in 2011 the country manufactured 1195000 cars of all categories.

The dominant manufacturer is SKODA AG.

It should be mentioned, that since early 1990s, SKODA has become part of Volkswagen AG concern. SKODA cars are pride of the Czech Republic and constitute the main part of its exports.
