Azerbaijani market of information technology is of particular interest for the global IT vendors, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Elmir Velizade told reporters on Monday, commenting on the meeting with the members of the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) held in Baku.
"One of the prospects for cooperation discussed at the meeting with AMCHAM members were questions of creation in Azerbaijan of DATA-centers and information centers," Velizade said.
Azerbaijan, he said, claims in the future to be an information source and provider of information services in the region.
"In this regard, there are contacts with international companies, and these issues are discussed. International vendors show great interest in Azerbaijan," he said.
US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce represents 80 percent of total foreign investment, as well as a significant proportion of domestic investments in Azerbaijani economy.
AMCHAM members have the opportunity to share information, submit for consideration issues of common interest and propose solutions.
For members, companies and organizations of the AMCHAM, opportunity for access to business information in Azerbaijan and the United States is provided.
