Azerbaijani businessmen to visit China

An Azerbaijani business delegation will stay in China from June 10-16, Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) said today.

The Chinese-Azerbaijani business forum will take place during the visit. The meeting is planned to be held with manufacturers of equipment and importers of Chinese products. Azerbaijani businessmen will also visit industrial parks operating in China.

According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and China amounted to $667.3 million as of 2011, of which $628.25 million fell to the import of Chinese goods.

AZPROMO was created by the Azerbaijani government in 2003. The supreme governing body of the foundation is the board of trustees consisting of government representatives, the private sector and the international community. Initially, the foundation was created to attract direct foreign investments, but it began to promote the exports of local products and services in 2005.
