Azerbaijan to chair CIS Heads of Tax Services Coordination Council

Baku will host a meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Heads of Tax Administrations in the CIS, the Tax Ministry in Azerbaijan said on Tuesday.

"The meeting will discuss the key performance indicators of the tax authorities, the use of a special tax regime for small business entities, the simplification of tax administration procedures for property tax," a statement said.

The event participants also will exchange views on the participation of the Coordinating Council in the anniversary event on the 20th anniversary of the CIS under the Agreement on free trade zone, the implementation of plan for in connection with the Phase I of the CIS economic development strategy for 2009-2011 and others.

The council's meeting will be attended by officials of the CIS Executive Committee, Tax Services of the CIS countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine. Participation of the leaders of the tax authorities of Latvia, Lithuania and Korea as observers is expected.

As part of the meeting held in Baku, according to the rotation principle, chairmanship of the council next year will go to the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan.
