Global economic challenges not to affect Azerbaijan's customs

The Azerbaijani customs system is ready for the challenges of the global economy, chairman of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev told media today.

"The World Customs Organization adopted framework customs standards several years ago," he said. They included crisis processes that can occur in the future."

He said that the main task of the customs in these circumstances is to ensure safety, in particular economic.
"Our goal is to ensure security by improving and simplifying the work, without creating additional obstacles in foreign trade transactions," Aliyev said.

Baku hosts the international scientific conference on "Role of customs regulations in ensuring economic security in terms of globalization" today. The representatives of customs bodies from 18 countries and experts from international organizations attend the conference.

Azerbaijan was able to take its place in the list of countries that ensured their economic security for 20 years of independence. This proves that the dynamics of GDP growth for the last years, chairman of the parliamentary committee on economic policy Ziyad Samadzade said.

"The Azerbaijani customs bodies' activity played its role in ensuring economic security," he said. The customs system meeting international standards was established in the country."

He said that the committee is one of the important bodies forming the budget receipts of the country. They demonstrate the dynamics of the growth.
