The Azerbaijani team has started the sixth day of the Baku 2015 European Games on the second place in the overall rank with 19 medals, eight of which are gold.

The last gold to the national coin box was added by female athlete, Angela Dorogan in freestyle wrestling on June 16.

The Russian team tops the ranking with 22 medals, 12 of which are of the purest tint after the five day of the competitions. Hungary is now placed third and Belarus is fourth.

Azerbaijan will compete for medals in Gymnastics Acrobatic, Gymnastics Aerobic, Archery, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Gymnastic Rhythmic, Trampoline, Shooting, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Water Polo, and Wrestling on June 17.

The country believes and cheers for the national team, and with this support, Azerbaijani athletes continue to bring medals.

So far, the country possesses nine medals in Wrestling, six medals in Karate, and by one medals in Canoe Sprint, Gymnastics Artistic, Taekwondo, and Triathlon.

Baku 2015 European Games is an innovative competition that gathered over 6,000 athletes from 50 countries to compete in 20 sports. Twelve sports will provide licenses for Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Baku.

The magnificent opening ceremony of the Games warmed hearts of Azerbaijanis and showed the history of the country around the world on June 12. The event will last until June 28.
