A few days left for the start of the First European Games in Baku and the symbol of the Games – the torch – has already arrived in the capital, said the reportage.

The torch is carried throughout all the sports venues where the competitions will be held, said the TV channel.

Russia-1 TV channel said that the opening ceremony of the highly organized First European Games will be held at Baku Olympic Stadium June 12.

Over 600,000 tickets for the competitions during the First European Games have already been sold, said the reportage, adding that Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the opening ceremony of the Games.

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.

Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
