Enjoy rental car services during Baku 2015

In less than two weeks Baku is going to host this year’s most significant sporting event - the first-ever European Games, scheduled for June 12-28.

Alongside 6,000 athletes, who will all compete in 20 sports, including 16 Olympic disciplines, the country will host many tourists from different countries.

Many guests will probably want to get acquainted with the city and its regions' beauty. In view of making such trips pleasant and hassle free many will of course choose to rent a vehicle instead of using public transport.

Kamran Aliyev, the spokesman for the interior ministry's central state traffic police department confirmed that car rental services are already available in Azerbaijan, stressing that the country’s guests need not worry about access and availability on this occasion.

“Even though there are few companies offering such services, customers demand will be met," he said.

Today, car rental service, which is very popular in the West, is also gaining popularity in Azerbaijan on the back of tourism development.

Companies are able to provide tourists with cars in both economy and business classes. “Tourists can book a car via the Internet and once in Baku activate their rental contract,” Aliyev noted.

Nusret Ibrahimov, the general manager of MBA Consulting told local media that the cost of car rentals in Baku starts from 40 manat ($38.05) per day. “The cost can be much higher. It all depends on the car brand, manufacturer year, and the running distance” he said.

He also called prices affordable in comparison with other countries. “The prices are relatively low due to small demand in this market yet in Azerbaijan. That is why prices are generally acceptable,” Ibrahimov.

Economic expert Vugar Bayramov, for his part, said that they assessed prices of several companies engaging in rental car. “We assessed that the price of a modest car - the Mercedes C-class 1997 stands at 45 manat ($42.80) per day.”

The longer the rental period, the cheaper the rental cost will be, Bayramov noted. “The most expensive car on offer was a Mercedes G-class, which cost stood at 400 manat ($380.47) per day.”

Companies provide convenient services for customers. For example, customers will have the possibility to leave their car in different regions of the country at the end of their rental agreement rather than drive the car back to Baku, where they first acquired the vehicle.
