The inaugural European Games Baku 2015 presented its uniform on April 30.

Youth and Sport Minister, Azad Rahimov and General Operations Director of Baku 2015, Simon Clegg received the first uniforms.

The uniforms were produced by the Giltex company. Overall, the company will produce 110,000 sets of uniforms of seven types. All staff of the Baku 2015 European Games Operations Committee will receive their uniform in the coming weeks.

The first European Games is the largest international sports event held in Azerbaijan, Rahimov said.

"The attention of the world of sport will be focused on Baku. I have no doubt that the staff and volunteers of the Games will be proud to wear their uniforms. They will promote our country and its hospitality at a high level," he stressed.

The first European Games will be a historical event for Azerbaijan, Simon Clegg noted.

"I am satisfied that the preparation for the world-class event is carried out in accordance with the plan. The presentation of the uniforms and accreditation cards are one more step bringing us closer to the sports festivity," he added.

The European Games in Baku will gather over 6,000 athletes, and some 3,000 accompanying staff, from 50 countries to compete in 20 sports, 16 of which are Olympic.

Thousands of young Azerbaijanis sent their applications to be a part of the event.
